Always a brutal race, with the hardest catergory climbs and a challenging fell run. Greame had a strong swim coming out of the water in 41mins 13sec which he did tell us, included a long transition from the lake to T1, Greame built he swim up and felt he really finished strongly in the last 500. Greame had a speedy transition and was out on the bike. Here he felt good, he said the bike training had definaetly paid off, avaeraging 18.4mph in the lakes district is a brilliant avg speed over 56miles. Greame felt comfortable and confident on the climbs and used the tricky decents to recover. The run went well, walk/climbing the two main fell inclines. Over all Greame was happy with the run, just struggled on the road in the last km hitting the tarmac after a hard fell run is always a tall order. Greame had the support of his family and has a good training race in the bag, highlighting to him and us, both his strengths and weaknesses.
