St Anselms School Report

St Anselms School Report

Ben Reeves and Miles Kinlen competed in the Derbyshire County Championship, this is where all the Derbyshire swimming clubs swim against each other, it’s a regional event with profound status, and swimmers must reach a certain standard to even qualify.
Ben and Miles dedication is a credit to the school; these boys have spent the last two weekends swimming out of their skins. Their results are featured in the table below. Both boys gained podium positions in several races; they experienced what it was like to race in finals and definitely put in some lifetime best performances. Miles gained the title of Derbyshire Champion in 200m fly. The thing which sticks in my mind the most about these two boys is the support they have for each other, they are passionate about each other’s performance, they race against each other, cheer for each other and congratulate each other. I think this sportsmanship is definitely enhanced by the school sport at St Anselms.
The boys swim at swim squad, supported by Results Fitness and Swimming on a Thursday evening finishing at 7.00pm, then I see them at 6.00am Friday morning for a training session with Matlock Swimming Club, the boys turn up with the same energy, the same motivation, dedication and smiles. They work hard, they never moan and they embrace every opportunity they get, true credits to St Anselms. Ben and Miles performances have been outstanding, well done boys.

Training for Teenagers

Training for Teenagers

It’s not just adults Results Fitness & Swimming work with, Georgina Denham is a motivated teenager showing a lot of promiseand potential, in so many areas, academic, musical and sport, this can lead to people encouraging her to a range of activities, which is brilliant, but increasingly adds to her personal pressures to perform and leaving her with a jammed packed workload.

Georgina has been selected for the Nationals at Track cycling; she has weekly plans that are specific and short to fit in alongside her other working commitments. We have implanted good training habits into Georgina since a young age, and this helps her deal with the pressure both at school and track cycling. Georgina has an incredibly laid back but motivated and committed attitude to everything she does. Being a teenager is never easy, but with the support of others, careful time management and encouragement,  teenagers can reach their goals and beyond in all areas, with good time management, self-discipline and self-efficacy.

The flickr link below shows Diane, Georgina and Rob her friend completing a sprint turbo session specific to here main events.
